Bali Retreat Insights & Statistics

The numbers behind the island's retreat scene, and what they mean if you are trying to book one.

In short

Bali's retreat market concentrates in three areas, runs on a seven-day default and peaks between April and September — and prices across it move far enough that comparing two brochures tells you less than asking both.

  • Three main areas: Ubud, Canggu, Uluwatu
  • Seven days is the typical programme length
  • Ninety minutes from airport to Ubud

What it involves

What the numbers say

Three patterns worth knowing before you compare two brochures.

Concentration

Ubud, Canggu and Uluwatu hold most of the supply. Everywhere else is thin.

Seasonality

April to September is peak. Rates and availability both move with it.

Length

Seven days is the default, and shorter programmes rarely justify the flight.

Reading a comparison site

Aggregators make it easy to compare prices and give smaller operators visibility they would not otherwise have — which is genuinely useful.

What they do not show is whether a facilitator is who they claim to be. That still takes a phone call, and it is the part we do.
