Bali Detox Retreats

Plant-based programmes with the food, the rest and the movement arranged around each other rather than bolted together.

In short

A detox retreat in Bali is a supervised change of diet for a week or so, with light movement, bodywork and a lot of sleep around it.

  • Plant-based, and mostly grown nearby
  • Light movement rather than training
  • Dietary needs accommodated on request

What it involves

How a week runs

Detox programmes differ mainly in how strict the food is. The rest is fairly consistent.

Food

Plant-based and built for the programme, not chosen from a menu.

Movement

Walks, gentle yoga, swimming. Nothing that competes with the diet for energy.

Screening

A short health questionnaire first. Fasting is not right for everyone.

Honest about the claims

Your liver and kidneys detoxify you; a retreat does not. What a week like this reliably does is break a pattern — of eating, drinking, sleeping and screen time — in a place where that is easy.

That is worth doing. It just is not what the word usually implies.
